2016-2017 Brownbag Series (LIVE)

100 years ago today a classroom consisted of students sitting at desks in rows looking at an instructor. If the world is so different now, why haven’t our classroom teaching styles changed? Or have they?

Today, technology is ubiquitous – it is the norm.  It has contributed to a rise in asynchronous learning.

However, in an ever changing technological environment, it is easy to feel overwhelmed while you are still struggling with how to take attendance in your school’s new LMS.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have place to meet with fellow educators, discuss issues in teaching and learning, and learn new instructional technologies and the latest innovations in pedagogy?  This can help your improve your courses and contribute to the success of the students.

Our New Teaching and Learning Brownbag Series is just the thing.

It is only 60 minutes in the afternoon on select Wednesdays of the month, so it will not take too much of your time. These series will provide seminars and discussion of current issues that help you and your students succeed.

There are computers there, so you can apply what you learned, explore options, and take collaborative notes.

You can even relax and enjoy some coffee, provided you bring your own.

Topics for this year include:

  • Making the Most of the Grade Center in Blackboard
  • Making Learning Personal with Welcome Videos
  • Safe-Assign – Your Free Plagiarism Deterrent and Educational Tool
  • Powerpoint -- Pizzazz, Pathos, and Pedagogy
  • Flipping your Course

So be sure to mark your calendar - dates and location are below.  (Download the pdf).

We are looking forward to seeing you.
